The Gentlemen is getting a third season.
Netflix has renewed its crime drama series for a third season ahead of the second season's debut. Creator Guy Ritchie is set to return to direct the show in the upcoming season 3.
“The ambition of The Gentlemen has accelerated, the world has expanded and the consequences carry weight. A third season felt inevitable, and I’m looking forward to pushing the boundaries of it further,” Ritchie said in a press release.
This renewal announcement comes alongside the season 2 official trailer. It stars Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Ray Winstone, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones and Giancarlo Esposito, who return in season 2's eight new episodes.
"It’s been one year since Eddie and Susie joined forces to work together in Bobby’s criminal empire overseas. As they drive to expand their enterprise, the decisions Bobby is making seem to be increasingly unsound. Now Eddie and Susie must decide whether to take action or risk losing it all, but unfettered ambition never ends well," according to season 2's official description.
Joining the show in season 2 are Hugh Bonneville, Benjamin Clementine, Benedetta Porcaroli, Michele Morrone, Sergio Castellitto, Amra Mallassi, Tyler Conti, Chris Eubank Jr. and Maya Jama.
There was speculation that Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, would possibly appear in a potential third season of The Gentlemen amid her family's announcement they are moving back to the U.K., though it was never confirmed. The Hollywood Reporter ran a story on Saturday reporting Meghan had been dropped from consideration to join the series, according to a Substack column published by the former editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair and The New Yorker.
The third season will consist of eight hourlong episodes written by Ritchie and Matthew Read. As for what fans can expect, Netflix teases, "Your guess is as good as mine."

Kit Harington is headed to Hogwarts.
The actor is set to play Gilderoy Lockhart in season 2 of HBO's upcoming Harry Potter TV series, ABC Audio has confirmed.
Harington replaces Nicholas Hoult in the role. Hoult was previously announced to star as the character on Aug. 12. He now leaves the part over scheduling issues. HBO had to work around two of Hoult's preexisting projects, and when it was no longer feasible, the actor was let out of his deal.
This means Harington takes over the role he previously voiced in Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions, which released in late 2025.
The first season of the series, titled Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, debuts on HBO and HBO Max on Dec. 25. Its season 2 renewal was announced on May 6.
Gilderoy Lockhart was previously played by Kenneth Branagh in the 2002 film Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The character is a famous, vain wizard known for his heroic acts that he has described in books written about himself. He takes over as the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts.
Dominic McLaughlin leads the cast of the upcoming show as Harry Potter. He stars alongside Alastair Stout and Arabella Stanton, who play Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The series is described as a faithful adaptation of the books by J.K. Rowling, who serves as an executive producer.
Succession's Jon Brown, who was a writer on season 1, has been promoted to co-showrunner for season 2. He will serve in the role alongside Francesca Gardiner, the showrunner of season 1.
Harington replacing Hoult isn't the first casting news about season 2. On May 18, ABC Audio confirmed that Gracie Cochrane, the actress who portrays Ginny Weasley in season 1, will not return to play the character in season 2 of the series.

Sharna Burgess is officially returning to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom.
On Monday, the longtime DWTS pro announced on Good Morning America that she will compete on the upcoming 35th season of the hit dance competition series, marking her first time competing on the show since season 30 in 2021.
"I'm back! Some of you guys guessed it. Yes, I am here with a special announcement to finally confirm I'm back on Dancing with the Stars, baby," Burgess said. "I'm going to be competing for that Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy. I can't wait to be back in the ballroom with my dancing family, and mostly it feels so good to be coming home. I'll see you all soon."
The upcoming season will mark Burgess' 15th season competing as a professional dancer on DWTS.
Burgess previously took home the Mirrorball Trophy with radio personality Bobby Bones in 2018 during season 27. Her last season as a competing pro was season 30 in 2021, when she was partnered with her now-fiancé, actor Brian Austin Green.
Burgess' return comes as excitement builds for season 35. Several celebrity contestants have already been announced, including Summer House star Ciara Miller, The Traitors star Maura Higgins, Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson and Jimmy Kimmel Live! personality Guillermo Rodriguez.
Rodriguez will be partnered with returning pro Witney Carson.
The rest of the DWTS season 35 cast will be revealed Sept. 2 on GMA.
DWTS season 35 will debut with a two-night premiere Tuesday, Sept. 15, and Wednesday, Sept. 16, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, streaming the next day on Hulu.

Hayden Panettiere's mother is opening up about how she hopes her daughter will be remembered following the actress's death at age 36.
"I want Hayden to be remembered for the talented, you know, beautiful, outgoing, intelligent woman she really was," Lesley Vogel told ABC News.
Panettiere, known for her roles in Heroes, Nashville and Ice Princess, died on Aug. 16 after she was found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest at a residence in Greenville, South Carolina. First responders attempted to resuscitate her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Vogel described the moment she heard the news, saying, “I was numb. I was just numb."
“I still am not grasping this is real. It just doesn't, it doesn't feel real,” she said. “My mind tells me it's not at times. You know, it's going to be a process."
She acknowledged the difficulty of mourning someone who was in the public eye, describing potential critics as “haters” and telling them that they “don’t have a right to tell me how to mourn the loss of my second child, that’s my domain.”
Vogel and Skip Panettiere, Hayden’s parents, who divorced when she was young, lost their son, Jansen Panettiere, in 2023. The family said in its statement at the time that Jansen Panettiere died from an enlarged heart.
Their daughter's death came months after Hayden Panettiere spoke publicly about her relationship with her mother, who served as her acting coach and manager in her childhood.
In a May interview with ABC News, Hayden Panettiere said trying to maintain a relationship with her had been "tough."
"Over the years, I've tried to leave that door open, hoping that the relationship would evolve into a healthy mother-daughter relationship, and it's obvious that that's just not going to be the case," she explained.
At the time, Vogel responded to her daughter's comments in a statement to Page Six, saying she had chosen to go "the no-contact route" after taking "the advice of professionals."
Speaking with ABC News on Sunday, Vogel said her relationship with Hayden Panettiere evolved as she grew older.
Vogel recalled that the actress had landed her Heroes role of Claire Bennet, a cheerleader with supernatural abilities, as a 16-year-old. Until then Hayden Panettiere had lived “a very happy life,” Vogel said, adding, “but I would say at about 17, I started seeing her going downhill.”
“As she got older, then it wasn't my voice anymore. I wasn't in charge of her choices,” Vogel said. “I tried to give her the best advice I could, but again, you know, any young person, teen, come on, they want to be liberated. And I get that. I did get that!”
Hayden Panettiere had been candid about her struggles from child stardom through adulthood, releasing a memoir, This Is Me: A Reckoning, in May in which she wrote about postpartum depression, addiction and recovery, domestic abuse and more.
The book includes a scene in which Hayden Panettiere told her mother at 19 that she didn’t want to be managed by her anymore. The book describes Vogel’s response, which the book said was Vogel saying, “You owe me.”
“I remember being in her trailer and literally saying nothing,” Vogel told ABC News. “I was -- I knew that day would come. It's not that I didn't expect it, but it was very short, very brief conversation, and then she turned and went to set. But did it hurt to read that in the book? You know, it just -- I know I didn't say what she said.”
The Greenville City Police Department is leading the investigation into Hayden Panettiere's death, with the Drug Enforcement Administration assisting, according to sources familiar with the matter.
According to a police report obtained by ABC News, Hayden Panettiere was with her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, and his brother, Zach Hickerson, at the time of her death. The report said it was unknown whether Hayden Panettiere had been using drugs or alcohol.
Hayden Panettiere's official cause and manner of death "remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies," the coroner's office said.
Vogel and Hayden Panettiere were estranged in the actor’s final months, a separation that Vogel said came about after she went to stay with her daughter about a year ago. Vogel said Hayden Panettiere at that time wanted to get out of her relationship with Hickerson.
“She knew that Brian was toxic,” Vogel said. “She knew she had to get him out of her life.”
But after about six weeks, Vogel said, she noticed her daughter pulling away, so she returned home to Florida. Vogel said Hayden Panettiere called her and told her that she was “going to be with the person I love,” which was Hickerson.
Vogel said she issued her daughter an ultimatum, telling her she couldn’t be in her life if Hickerson was also a part of it. She said she had expected the estrangement that followed to be a “pocket of time.”
She said she didn’t “by any stretch of the imagination think that this was going to happen to Hayden.”
“I'll be honest. It just, I don't know why, I just didn't,” she added. “Maybe I didn't want to.”
Vogel said Hickerson and Hayden Panettiere grew closer in 2018 after she ceded full custody of her daughter, who was then 4, to her ex-fiance, longtime heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.
“That was probably the catalyst,” she said. “In my opinion, that was the catalyst that she just couldn't keep those demons away. I think she struggled, and Brian came into her life. She was vulnerable."
Hickerson pleaded no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend in April 2021.
Hickerson's attorney shared a statement with ABC News on Thursday, writing, "Hayden's death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed. As has been publicly reported, police confirmed there were no signs of foul play. Out of respect for Hayden's loved ones and the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time."
Vogel said she wants her daughter to be remembered as the “talented, beautiful, outgoing, intelligent woman” she had been.
“But I also want people to understand that it is my belief that ... she was suffering,” Vogel said. “Now that doesn't make sense because when you look at a beautiful girl who's got an incredible career, even though it has had its ups and downs, but you know, you look that big picture and you go, why would you be suffering? People don't understand that you can have on the exterior all of this. But that doesn't mean that what's going on in here matches.”

Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, is reportedly returning to acting, as she, Prince Harry and their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, move back to the United Kingdom.
A report Friday in the Australian outlet news.com.au said Meghan has been "offered a role in an upcoming project based in the UK." No further details have been released.
A source close to Meghan and Harry indicated to ABC News the report is accurate. The Sussexes have not commented publicly on Meghan's potential return to acting, nor have they commented on their upcoming move to the U.K., which comes six years after the couple stepped away from their senior royal roles and moved to the United States.
Since 2020, the Sussexes have lived in California, where Meghan was born and raised.
The 45-year-old was a full-time actress in the U.S. and Canada before she married Harry in 2018 and gave up her acting career. When she met Harry, Meghan was starring in Suits, a USA Network legal drama, in which she portrayed paralegal Rachel Zane for seven seasons.
The show enjoyed a popular resurgence in 2023 when it became available to stream on Netflix.
Meghan's Suits co-stars attended her and Harry's wedding in Windsor, England, including Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht, Sarah Rafferty, Abigail Spencer, Gina Torres and Rick Hoffman.
Meghan told Variety in 2022 that she believed she was "done" with acting, saying, "I guess never say never, but my intention is to absolutely not."
Upon stepping away from their royal roles, Harry and Meghan struck a production deal with Netflix, which led to their Harry & Meghan six-part docuseries in 2022 and two seasons of With Love, Meghan, which featured Meghan showing lifestyle and cooking tips.
No plans have been announced for Harry and Meghan to resume their senior royal roles when they return to the U.K.
A source familiar with the matter told ABC News that Harry's father, King Charles III, is clear there are no plans to alter Harry and Meghan's role and status as private individuals and non-working royals, in keeping with their agreement over the past years.

It's almost time to clock in for another shift at The Pitt.
HBO Max has released the teaser trailer for season 3 of the popular, Emmy-winning procedural medical drama series. The show is set to return in January 2027.
Each season of The Pitt takes place over the course of a single 15-hour shift in the emergency room at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. Every episode takes place during one of the hours of that specific shift.
According to its official logline, "The Pitt is a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh."
Emmy winner Noah Wyle once again stars as Dr. Robby in season 3. The trailer finds him arriving back at work after his sabbatical.
"Thought you'd run away and joined the circus," Katherine LaNasa's Dana Evans tells Dr. Robby.
"They haven't fired you yet?" he says in return.

The Hunting Wives will be back for seconds on Thanksgiving Day.
Netflix has announced that season 2 of the popular series premieres on Nov. 26. This new season will release exclusively as a Netflix branded series in nearly all countries where the streaming service is available. It will consist of eight new episodes.
Brittany Snow and Malin Akerman are reprising their roles of Sophie and Margo in this new season. Also returning are Jaime Ray Newman, Dermot Mulroney, Evan Jonigkeit and George Ferrier. Karen Rodriguez and Hunter Emery will reprise their roles of Deputy Salazar and Deputy Flynn as series regulars, while Branton Box will also return in the guest star role of Sheriff Johnny.
New cast members this season are John Stamos, Dale Dickey, Cam Gigandet, Kim Matula and Alex FitzAlan. Stamos will play the role of Chase Brylan, while Dickey will play Zelda Moffitt and Gigandet will take on the role of Gentle John Moffitt.
"At the start of season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together," according to its official logline. "As they play their dangerous games the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?"

A representative for the late actress Hayden Panettiere issued a brief statement Thursday after the Drug Enforcement Administration joined the investigation into her death earlier this week.
Panettiere, known for her roles in "Ice Princess," "Heroes," "Nashville" and more, died Sunday at age 36.
In a statement shared with ABC News on Thursday, Panettiere's representative said, "There's nothing to be shared at this time as the investigation is ongoing but we are hopeful that justice will be served."
The DEA joined the investigation into Panettiere's death on Wednesday, according to sources familiar with the matter.
The Greenville City Police Department in South Carolina is the lead investigative agency, and the DEA is assisting.
News of the DEA joining the investigation came one day after Greenville police released a report detailing the scene at the private residence where Panettiere was found in cardiac arrest and later pronounced dead.
According to that report, an officer arrived at the residence on Easley Bridge Road in Greenville on Sunday, responding to an EMS assist for an unresponsive individual.
The officer said that Panettiere was with her on-again, off-again boyfriend Brian Hickerson and his brother, Zack Hickerson, when she died.
According to the police report, it is unknown if Panettiere was using drugs or alcohol at the time of her death, although the officer added in the report that Brian Hickerson had shown them the bag of medication that Panettiere was taking.
Officials arrived on scene to assist in the investigation, and the coroner was also on scene to conduct their investigation.
Panettiere's official cause and manner of death "remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies," the coroner's office said in a press release on Monday.
Prior to her death, Panettiere had been candid about her struggles from child stardom through adulthood.

Panettiere is survived by her daughter Kaya, whom she shared with her ex-fiance Wladimir Klitschko.

Prime Video has renewed the popular young adult drama series for season 2. The show is created and executive produced by Megan Park and produced by Amazon MGM Studios.
The first season of Sterling Point debuted all eight of its episodes on Aug. 5. It follows a 17-year-old New Yorker named Annie Jacobson, who lives with her twin brother and adoptive father. Her life changes when she inherits her mysterious grandfather's Canadian island. Her visit to the island leads to romance and reveals untold family secrets.
The O.C.'s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage executive produced and served as co-showrunners for the series for Fake Empire. Tom Ackerley and Dani Gorin also serve as executive producers for LuckyChap.

Keke Palmer has survived years in the game, and her longevity is partially due to advice she received from Queen Latifah. During an appearance on Amy Poehler's Good Hang podcast, she shared that she learned from her mentor the importance of letting her work speak for itself.
“People are watching even when you don’t think they’re watching,” Keke said, recalling a lesson she learned from Queen. “It’s not what you say. It’s what you do.” She noted that Queen once referred her for a role after seeing her work ethic, professionalism and more.

The theatre will recognize "her extraordinary contributions to the performing arts" and "her ability to inspire audiences through storytelling that transcends disciplines," according to a press release.

The American Ballet Theatre’s 2026 Fall Gala is set to take place Oct. 29 at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City.
Erivo previously appeared in the American Ballet Theatre's first digital gala in May 2020, performing “America the Beautiful" alongside a video of their dancers.

It's Jamie Foxx's turn to take on Hularious, Hulu's original stand-up comedy series. His special, dubbed Jamie Foxx: Take Care of Yourself, is set to premiere Oct. 7 on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
According to the synopsis, it will see the comedian take the stage, delivering "a much-needed dose of self-care in his most honest, evolved, and unforgettable chapter yet."

David Krumholtz is clarifying comments regarding his break from acting.
The actor took to a since-deleted Threads post on Tuesday to write that he is “frustrated, fed up, [and] fried” with the entertainment business and that he's taking “an indefinite break” as "the profession has lost its gleam."
“I kinda sorta put my acting career on hold the other day. It’s been something I’ve been petrified to do for years,” Krumholtz wrote in his original Threads post. “Specifically, the fear was that I’d go broke and not be able to handle being out of the game. But I sent the definitive email.”
Krumholtz clarified his remarks in an Instagram post on Wednesday, saying he is not technically retiring, only taking a break from acting.
"Firstly, I am very well. And I feel very loved. Secondly, I never used the word 'retiring' or 'quitting'. Instead, I said that I decided to put my career on hold," Krumholtz wrote. "I don’t expect anyone to understand, but the outpouring of support for my decision has been deeply heartwarming."
The actor went on to say he is grateful for the support he has received in making his dreams and ambitions come true, but "a time has come where the weight of those dreams and ambitions has become surprisingly oppressive."
Krumholtz said he prioritizing his mental health with this decision.
"My mental health is vital to my family. My career has run the gamut. I’m in disbelief. But I find myself at a crossroads between the inherent self involvement being a professional actor requires, and a burning desire to give more of myself to others in need, in whatever way I can. And so, for the time being, I’m pursuing that goal," he wrote.
Audiences would recognize Krumholtz from his recent roles in this summer's Supergirl and the best picture-winning 2023 biopic Oppenheimer. He also appeared in The Santa Clause franchise, 10 Things I Hate About You and Slums of Beverly Hills.

Hayden Panettiere's ex-boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was present at the scene when she died, according to a police report obtained by ABC News.
Panettiere, known for her roles in Heroes, Nashville, Remember the Titans and more, died on Sunday. She was 36.
In the police report from the Greenville City Police Department, an officer arrived on the scene on Easley Bridge Road in Greenville, South Carolina. The officer was responding to an EMS assist for an individual who was unresponsive.
"The patient did not seem to have any obvious physical reasons to be unresponsive," the officer wrote in the report.
"EMS attempted to perform life saving methods for an extended amount of time before they called a time of death. This was 1431 hours," the report continued.
The officer then wrote in the report that they spoke with Brian Hickerson and his brother, Zach Hickerson, who was also on scene, while EMS "was working on the patient."
Zach Hickerson described Panettiere as his brother's girlfriend.
"I observed Zach to be very emotional while EMS were working on Hayden," the officer wrote. "Brian did not become emotional until EMS declared her officially deceased. Medic 24 and S4 were on scene performing life saving measures."
The officer added in the report that Brian Hickerson showed them the bag of medication that Panettiere was taking.
Officials arrived on scene to assist in the investigation and the coroner was also on scene to conduct their investigation.
CCTV footage was requested from the scene and a supplemental report will be conducted, according to the report. The report added that the officer on scene also executed a search warrant.
It is unknown if Panettiere was using drugs or alcohol at the time of her death, according to the police report.
On Monday, the Greenville County Coroner's Office said in a press release that first responders and emergency medical services responded to a 911 call at the Greenville residence and found Panettiere "unresponsive" and in cardiac arrest. Responders "initiated advanced cardiac life support measures," but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful" and the actress was "pronounced deceased at 2:32 PM," officials said.
The coroner's office said an autopsy was completed on Monday, and that "no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death."
Panettiere's official cause and manner of death "remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies," the coroner's office added.
The release noted that Panettiere had been "temporarily staying" at the residence where she was found. The coroner's office and Greenville City Police Department have since "initiated a parallel investigation" into her death, according to the release.
ABC News has reached out to Panettiere's rep for a comment.
In previous reporting from ABC News, Panettiere had spoken out about Brian Hickerson's alleged domestic abuse.
Panettiere told Good Morning America in a statement in 2020: "I am coming forward with the truth about what happened to me with the hope that my story will empower others in abusive relationships to get the help they need and deserve. I am prepared to do my part to make sure this man never hurts anyone again."
She added, "I’m grateful for my support system, which helped me find the courage to regain my voice and my life.”
Brian Hickerson pleaded no contest to two felony counts of injuring a spouse or girlfriend in April 2021.
In court docs obtained by ABC News on Tuesday, a California judge denied Brian Hickerson's request to reduce his prior domestic violence felony convictions.
Brian Hickerson petitioned the court to reduce his felony domestic violence convictions to misdemeanors and to expunge the case from his record. The request was denied on Aug. 13, 2026.
ABC News has reached out to a lawyer for Brian Hickerson for comment.
Panettiere and Hickerson started dating in the late summer of 2018, after she and then-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko had split. Panettiere and Klitschko share a daughter, Kaya Klitschko.

Netflix has announced the release date for its upcoming adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic novel. The limited series will debut to the streaming service on Oct. 1.
Florence Pugh stars as antihero Cathy Ames and co-produces the new limited series that was adapted by Zoe Kazan. This project is personal to Zoe, as she is the granddaughter of director Elia Kazan, who previously adapted the novel into a 1955 film that launched the career of James Dean.
The series finds Cathy's life "intertwined with the lives of generations of men from the Trask family — notably those of Adam (Christopher Abbott) and Charles (Mike Faist) — as the characters live out the darker side of the California dream," according to an official description.
East of Eden is described as a seven-episode fresh interpretation of the source material. In addition to Pugh, Abbott and Faist, Hoon Lee, Tracy Letts, Martha Plimpton, Ciarán Hinds, Joseph Zada and Joe Anders star.
While "bringing the family saga to life" was a resonant experience for Zoe Kazan, she told Netflix it was “Steinbeck’s writing — personal, shocking, profound, and free — that has kept me enthralled by East of Eden since I first read the book as a young teen.”
